Did some searching on the internet for new cables for all my old systems and found out that like half of every system I was searching for, INCLUDING THE FREAKIN' MODEL 1 GENESIS/MEGADRIVE, has SCART cables available for it. That is the equivalent of component video right there, you lucky bastards got to screw around with connectors that handled each color and audio channel individually while we got stuck with either RCA (video, left audio, right audio) or freakin' coaxial (everything crammed in a single signal)! Anyway, gonna order a bunch of SCART cables and some SCART to Component connectors (since no straight component cables were ever made) for my old systems. Gonna kick ass, will finally be able to see my games the way the developers intended them and they'll be running at 60hz (instead of your crappy 50 :P can't brag about PAL res on retro systems either... almost no games went past 512 X 384 res before the Dreamcast) as well.

LOL figured I'd spam some random useless bullshit in the section that was dedicated to it while I wait for my Xonotic autobuild to update. Though component video kicks ass, it's only one step down from HDMI and DVI. My PS2 and original XBox actually looks good on a 1080p LCD when it's hooked up via component.

You should see the VGA cable I have, UT99 looks mean at 1536p (especially with UTRP and a new renderer). Also HDMI cable has DRM tied to devices that use it, VGA and DVI however have no limitations at all. One other thing you should know (EVERYONE take note of this), your getting ripped off if you pay more than $6 USD for an HDMI cable, especially if it isn't the highest quality. Use this link for buying cables:
