Some of my keys stopped working (old laptop)
-When did this happen?
I think when I ran out of space in my hard drive, i was extracting a rar and it said i had not enough space.. tried to shift+del the rar and I noticed the del key wouldnt work.
-What keys dont work?
del, right/down arrow keys and maybe end, page up/down

I guessed it could have been the registry got corrupted but the keys dont work in the boot menu either..(maybe this doesnt mean it isnt the registry? anyway i cant try on another windows as the other 2 i have dont boot up.. and im too lazy to install a new os)

*update:
tried the keys in the bios and they worked there, then in the boot/windows login screen they still were working.. but when i got into windows they stopped working.

so what could it be.. drivers, hardware, registry, OS, VIRUS?
Any ideas..!? :(

Disable the password authentication for now? Worse comes to worse, you just plug in USB keyboard and it will pick it up just fine so that you can fix your lagtop keyboard.

Try a system restore to the day before it started happening...:) or Uninstall the keyboard in the device manager ->run devmgmt.msc

I think the error is somewhere between the keyboard and chair, but I'm not sure. There's a ton of stuff that can go wrong with opening Windows. Like your ACs and your PCs can stop functioning correctly when you do that.

NOT DOABLE, I've tried it. Ran indescribably bad due to wanting to guzzle down more resources than what the PC had, memory leaks were especially common.

Specs:
775 socket Intel Celeron (Pentium 4 based) 3GHz
512 MB DDR1
40 GB IDE HDD 7200rpm

Press the anykey...and when you find it....delete it. No really, unistalling the hardware...in the device manger will usually correct the problem...OR update the driver from microsoft...sometimes....that works.... Is it a nice USB microsoft keyboard? Get the drivers if it is....otherwise a regular startup with the keyboard unplugged (if it let's you) also helps...if it starts....let it sit there for a few after it boots....then shut down (with button or mouse), plug it back in...and startup.
