Since everyone's been too lazy - for the past 3 years - to give this map its deserved overhaul, I went ahead and gave it a shot.

Changes:
Removed low gravity
Redesigned the lower entrance
Span a bridge across mid
Added midspawn

Left everything inside the base in its original state as I don't think it needs any changes. Anyhow, suggestions are highly welcome.

"Can't find file for package KnTAleria" error message appeared when i tried to play it, but wtf Aleria has to do with Lucious? If i remember correct it was Zac's map that I didn't download. I liked Lucious and wanted to try it out, it will be cool if you guys keep both the original and siege version.

Chis, if you can't remove the dependancy for that TEX package:
> export the map to T3D and close
> reopen unrealed without loading anything
> import the map, rebuild all
> you may have to retexture 1 or 2 things.

I wouldve fixed it if someone said anything, im open to fix maps like lucius. its a well built map and a classic before.

Right, before doing the T3D thing, load the texture package do DO want to be used, or the entire map will be white.

Another way to do it is:
> Export to T3D
> Create a new, blank map.
> Go to texture browser and delete the textures you don't want in memory.
> Reimport T3D.

Another reason to hate zac.

Higor it works until I try to save it. It just simply crashes on me.
If I can't get it to work I'll just redo it one of these days.

Damn Higor, you gave chis the most complicated instructions to remove a few textures dependant on certain utx files, your way is very complex and a bad way to do it IMO.

texture replacement is much simpler than that, load the map, open texture browser, click on the texture pack you dont want, see what textures are there (it will only show textures used in the map from that pack) find the texture in the map, right click the surface then click on "select surfaces" in the right click menu then "matching textures", choose a texture you want to replace it with and as soon as you click that texture all of the old textures will be replaced, do this until you have replaced all of the textures from the pack you dont want, after that you should save, then close Ued, then open it again and open the texture browser, if the texture file you didn't want is still there then you have missed one, if successful your map will load and the tex file you didn't want will be gone.

I have done this more times than I can remember

if you export and re import you will lose all the properties that may have been added to the map which in turn will cause a lot more complications

Imo lucius did need a re-vamp, probably why it's one of least picked map.

Ive sat and watched that avatar over and over! is the first one a real dog?!? I think a poll should be made

Edit: Now i think both are real dog's :indecisiveness:

Tried that but it didn't work either. I just couldn't get rid of the texture for some reason.
Anyway, I already remade it and changed some things along the way.

or is it a real dog with a mask? look at the legs hmhmh

The one in blue look's like a real dog, but the head is extremely big for a little dog.. yet the legs don't look like real dog legs.
The one in pink has more real like dog legs, but is just confusing with the mask.

lol at least my map made it to a league and got played in the league and your team actually won it. LOL chiseller barely knows how to properly use BSP brushes and that texture pack isnt even mine, the default texture pack was called Aleria from an Unreal Map.k now is good

For future reference if anyone else has this problem with textures that just wont GTFO.

Texture Cull is an operation that UnrealEd can perform which will remove unused textures from your map and also give you a list of all the textures currently in use. To perform a Texture Cull, type

Texture Cull

in Ued command box then click small icon right next to the box or go into the UnrealEd Console. Open the Log window (UnrealEd Main Menu -> View -> Log) to see progress. UnrealEd will give you a list of "referenced" textures (in use by your map), and "culled" textures (ones that aren't in use and have been removed).

Do NOT use this on a partially rebuilt map. Any textures which are only used by hidden brushes will be removed & the surfaces that used those textures will be set to the ugly green bubbly default texture. A 'hidden surface' in this context is one that is not visible in the map but theoretically should be there - it simply is not reflected in the game or the 3D view because the BSP geometry has not been rebuilt since the brush was moved. In particular, don't run this command on a partial build.

This will cure the problem.

as for chis's avatar, how have none of you got it? lol, its one dog, 4 dogs legs, fake puppet on top of the rear of the dog with a box between the dogs collar and the puppet on his ass so it looks like two small people carrying a box, pet fancy dress.

LOL if you studied the RGB color model a tad more careful you would have noticed a world beyond 204,204,204. May wanna lay off E. L. James's bestseller for a minute and give it a shot. /bitchmode

I am actually pretty pleased with the result, especially since I haven't touched UED in many years.

That is invalid as mylevel is directly incorporated into a map no matter what so you will never have a problem with a MyLevel package whether textures are being used or not from it, MyLevel is never saved as a package so it cannot be missing or cause any problems.

so really you made a moo point, true but pointless.

this version is only more bealtiful
btw this version is perfect for chis's game style
fragger for cross the mid, and its easy defend a tele built on enemy base top...

But I was thinking of adding a small glass or a bigger ramp to the top in mid. There are too many campers abusing that spot.
Was also thinking of adding an alternative way to get to the top but I don't know if that's really needed.
