Hi everybody!
I'm just posting this here to inform you about Global Unreal's first upcoming sniper league! So whether you're looking to dust off your sniper rifle as an old player... or you are new to it and would like to have some fun/a new challenge these upcoming weeks then maybe this is for you!
HOW MANY TEAMS/SIGNUPS ARE WE AIMING FOR?
We are ideally looking to attract at least 100 signups with the first installment of saCTF. Ideally looking for an 8 teams, 2 divisions, 3week regular season with only the top two teams of each division proceeding directly into the semi-finals. All in all, it would be a 5 week season depending we don't have any bumps in the road.
WHEN IS THE DRAFT DATE AND WHEN DOES THE LEAGUE START?
January 12 - Final Maplist Announced, Rules Announced, Group Seeds Announced
January 19 - Signups Close, Pre-ranking Discussion Opens
January 24 - Final Salaries Released
January 26 - Draft #GLOBALUNREAL
February 2 - Matches Start
WHAT TIME WILL MATCHES BE PLAYED?
Development Matches (2/5 starters): 230pm/330 EST - 730pm/830pm BST - 830pm/930pm CET
Regular Matches (5/5 starters): 5pm/6pm EST - 10pm/11pm BST - 11pm/12am CET
What are Development matches?
Development Matches are matches where only 2 out of 5 players may be the 'top' out of each team - meaning there are 3 spots for less experienced players to join and have fun!
I've never played one of these.. how do they work?
Players signup for the league and join a free agent pool. They are then ranked and assigned a salary. Team captains will then draft teams based on salary restrictions and finish with a roster of 10 players.
hint: If you would like to play in the season, get active in #iPug and strut your stuff. If you are new or unknown, captains might be weary about picking someone who they haven't seen play or are unsure about their activity/reliability.
WILL THERE BE A MERCENARY RULE?
Absolutely. With a three week season you will be required to play 2/3 games. This will be adjusted if we exceed the amount of expected signups and teams.
WILL PLAYOFFS BE BEST OF 5?
YES! Playoffs starting at semi-finals will be best of 5 maps.
