K Siege Ultimate RC3 is ready, I'm thinking this is gonna be the final release since the last remaining bugs have been worked out and everything has been polished up, plus my life is about to get really busy and won't have time to add more requested features. But this is just in time for the IST which officially starts this week so I'm glad I could get this completely finished early enough.

Changes from RC2 to RC3:

- The bug in the Thermal Visor of sometimes not showing the players glow is fixed, just toggle the visor off and then back on and it will zero everything out and start fresh. So if you see someone without their glow or the wrong color just turn the visor off and back on and it will immediately be corrected.

- Kills on the scoreboard work now. Also added number of buildings built, nukes built, and nukes killed to the main scoreboard. This is in place of having spectators see F3 since that's impossible for various reasons which i won't go into here. But this should work good enough.

- Shrinker doesn't shrink quite as much. 0.35 scale instead of 0.25.

- Negative score fix that should really work this time.

-ASMD Pulse/Flamethrower spawning with an IG at the same time (sometimes but u cant pick the IG)
-Tean HUD colors for Xconsole users bug :(
-Containers gets half inside walls when u build another one too close (happens often)

Thats all that bothers me :P

I hope u can this can get fixed soon, and gl with yer next busy life lol

That was done on purpose so you can build them anywhere without it playing the stupid error sound when you try to build a cont in a small space

And btw the Platform bug DOES affect, you cant shoot Rockets trhough it, they explode.

But whenever u have some free time i would really appreaciate if u fix it :P

I think i'd rather have Thermal Visor in regular color than blue.

Anyway, i found this 50 floating in the middle of the door in Niven, but there wasn't any diamond. :S Is it a bug? I was in spec mode at that time.

Type in console:
set input <key> ToggleVisor

replace <key> with whatever key u want
like set input f ToggleVisor

the shrink suit + speed is really annoying, it might not be so bad if the shrink suit wore off after awhile, but that was really bugging me earlier today.

Yep, as I said

[..] the shrink suit should be time limited. People are using it, so to say, as a defensive weapon as opposed to an attacking tool.
Though, the useless tools are actually laming around with it. Might as well bring back jet packs with suits, it's just as fun.

Are you guys still talking about RC2 or is this about RC3 now? Cause in RC3 the shrinker suit doesn't make you quite as small. But anyway if you're gonna spend over 1200 RU on some items it should give you that much of an advantage...

Only reason for that is if scar didn't edit the .ini correctly and still had it trying to supply the RC2 weapons...

$car did u put the SiegeUltimateRC3.ini file I sent you? Or did you edit RC2.ini and change all the 2's to 3's and maybe miss a couple? Cause its trying to supply RC2 weapons which no longer exist thats why people aren't getting mini or pulse...

dont get me wrong i do like the shrinker suit, i think you got the size pretty good, it's just too much to handle when it's stacked with speed and other crap like invis/sheildbelt. you should try hitting someone that has all those perks going for them, it's obnoxious.

the thing with speed and suit going together is that you have to die for everything to wear off, that's seriously the only problem i think is worth bringing up, everything else is good.

imo if a person is going to combine shrinker with speed it should be so as soon as you grab the speed your on a timelimit of staying shrinked or a timelimit of having speed so at least that way the person with it cant lame around with it and instead do what they planned to do im not putting invis in there as its already timebased and isnt a problem

originally yeah, the suit is completely different code, thats why i made it 1500 RU at first until everyone said to decrease it

imo, shrinker shouldn't be able to have invis or speed. it's already ridiculous enough how mall it is !

btw, negative scoreis sitll coming up. prob a tough one to fix. My guess is theres a limit to Ru allowed and it goes negative when one person would get too much RU? IDK just guessing because I had amp and wh and shot a whole bunch of stuff but other simple nukes like hitting 1 container for instace ive never noticed give a negative score.

Okay, I've got an interesting solution for this once and for all... it won't SOLVE the problem but it will get rid of the negative effects of it... will post details soon

Okay here is my new solution to negative scores...

This is the part of the code that is called every time you damage a building:


instigatedBy.PlayerReplicationInfo.Score += tempScore/1000;

'tempScore' is a variable based on the damage you do to a building, it is added to your final score every time you damage a building.

This is the new code:


if (tempScore < 0 || tempScore > 100000)
return;
else
instigatedBy.PlayerReplicationInfo.Score += tempScore/1000;

if (instigatedBy.PlayerReplicationInfo.Score < 1000)
instigatedBy.PlayerReplicationInfo.Score = 0;

In other words if something goes horribly wrong and it tries to add a ridiculously high or low number to your score, it will simply stop the function and not do anything, the building won't take any damage and you won't have any change done to your score. So any time you WOULD HAVE gone negative, instead simply nothing will happen, and you wont accidentally repair the other teams core either. Then there's one more added safeguard in place, if for some reason or another you do go negative beyond -1000, it will just zero out your score so that you can still nuke later, but that part of the code will probly never be called since the first part should work every time...

Pure Genius Koala. Another issue is the whole shock rifle spawning everytime something spawns in the middle. And it's just a regular shock rifle, not insta. Any ideas for this one? Even just a regular ZpInsta would be great.

What does upgrading nuke do? Cuz i was just testing it on pug and lev5 nuke did the same as lev 0 ... no extra damage, same speed

New version lags too much. I noticed it immediately when we switched from the old version( Wildcards) to this one. I've heard it from many and observed it through pings. Whether its a coincidence or not somethings diffrent with the shooting-hitting ratio. Im not a noob either so those trying to say stupid shit dont even bother. Im suaully pretty observent and know what im talkin about. Can we just switch back please and or fix this at least? I hate playing now, people warping, crosshair alingment but no kill,getting killed by someone with 250 ping 2 seconds before i even see them around a corner because lag,AHH!

Im going to be moving webservers sometime soon. I've been working on prepping up the other dedicated server so a move is imminent.
