Have you enabled UT in your antivirus and firewall ?
Have you try an other server under ACE ?

It is always better to use a rj45 instead of wifi.

netspeed 15000

how do I change netspeed :$

When you go in UT game, click on Options, Preferences, then the Network tab.
There is a drop down list:
Modem (28.8K - 56K) (known as 2,600)
ISDN (known as 5,000)
Cable, xDSL (known as 10,000)
LAN (known as using 20,000)

I think the netspeed is correct as I posted, I went in and changed each one and looked at the ut.ini. :P

netspeed needs to be set right. 15000 is also considered as LAN

netspeed is also important as it can control FPS as well if set to the right values making for smoother gameplay

He told me few days ago that he doesn t have any antivirus software installed . t could be very dangerous even if you aren t visiting suspicious sites as you mention to me . You better check your comp with malwarebytes once a month and ccleaner also if you don t wanna use an antivirus soft . Spybot is also a nice, lite and silent little program .

He told me that it has been happening since his new ISP. I'd say it could be the internet settings or router... did you get a new router btw? If you did, you would probably have to set up a game port setting so it will allow it to function properly (I guess.)

I've met a few peoples without antivirus and they play fine. lol. I just tell mine to shut up! (Game mode)

I've fixed this problem several times by deleting all ACE* (and even NPLoader*, just in case) files in /UnrealTournament/System/. Reconnect and "install all" at the prompt.

I also play with game mod ON Firewall+antivir, this isn t a problem, problem is running a comp probably Windows powered . You can be infected by visiting mylittlepony.com same as mylittleponytail.com . Maybe a malware or trojan use same port as needed to play then got this problem . Running windows without any antivir is same as having sex with SAM without condom :):cooter: (<<joke, it s really unsafe btw nowadays with anybody) .
At least try and full scan comp with malwarebytes, it s free and find most of infections and able to remove them .

NB : long time ago i also got this problem, then admin (masterjohnny/Snipermania) provide me another Nploader.dll ( was Nploader16.dll if my memory works ) trouble was UT crashing and timeout also when it doesn t crash. Maybe a way to explore for Deluxe.....

I'm having the 5-mins ACE timeouts that no-one apparently ever solved. It has something to do with Windows. The only way to solve it so far has been to get a new computer (or maybe re-install windows).

Weird thing is 1) if i connect normally the server list gets screwed with all servers having pings of 4. Then i shutdown/restart UT until the ping is right. Then i connect and NO problem.

2) if i start UT in 9x compatibility mode, it always connects right on the 1st try. But then i get these ACE timeouts that i don't get in 1)

So i've gone back to 1.

It absolutely looks like something internal to windows has gone wrong.

The ping part happens alot when UT's cpu affinity isn't set right (dualcore fixes are an option). Or try this; Start UT, start Task Manager and rightclick UT.exe--> Set affinity-->0 and close (You must repeat this step everytime you lauch ut, or use a dual/multi core fix). [I forgot the UT-shortcut properties command, if anyone knows feel free to jump in...]

Also try to remove all of your ACE and NPLoader files in your UT/System directory and remove each part in your UT.ini (ctrl+F <input> for faster search).
I don't know if the dualcore problem relates to your ping issue's but it's just a guess here that you can try.

Janssen
05-23-2014, 06:33 PM
Yeah i think it's a dual core thing.

So far i started UT 5 times in a row and it works. No connection problems. It makes sense. Ut was loading all wrong because it doesn't work properly on dual cores. So later on there are weird connection problems.

UT batch file to set 1 core is

on windows XP (me): psexec.exe -a 1 d:\ut\system\unrealtournament.exe

and on win7, something like: start /affinity 1 d:\ut\system\unrealtournament.exe

psexec.exe is part of and is downloadable here: http://download.sysinternals.com/files/PSTools.zip

Janssen
05-23-2014, 11:11 PM
This time i narrowed it down to the gfx driver. The whole ACE kicks happened when i switched to direct3d.

There are some hints out there that it's directX that is causing this: "I don't want to dig up old threats but i recently found out that the DXD11 render does NOT work with the latest ACE anticheat as it will kick you from the servers. Just some heads up for people who found out about this render and want to use it."

Did you get a new router?

Edit: I see you got a new one from your ISP. Ask your ISP if that router support UT99.

I'm starting to think something is not set up from the router, so we gotta start troubleshooting there.

Unless it become one of these TERRIBLE cases of timeout issue like this one. Please review fully and apply any suggestion to try out to see if it fixed.

3) if you don't know the cpu speed, use a prog like CPUID that tells you

That fixed it for me, and as i said, my recent disconnects are due to unstable ISP, not this

"Time out during check" This problem occurs even with me also. But usually when I start game and let that idle for few minutes (I mean 1 - 2 minutes) then ace starts working fine again. I usually observed 2 things that causes timeout check: 1. Ofcourse ISP
2.) I think game needs some more time to load completely?
