Anybody taken a shot at it yet?

I have dabbled and built one to practice with but when I save it or pack it, nothing shows in game and cant use the "open" server travel command either.

I have saved it in multiple folders but not been successful yet. Any ideas?

You have to move it from the build location to another directory.

I can't really remember, but I think it was this directory with the untealtournament.pak, "C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UnrealTournament\UnrealTournament\Content\Pa ks"

look for "UnrealTournament-WindowsNoEditor.pak"

Unreal Ed and Unreal tournament are two separate directories.

I really like the way the bots paths are done in UT4, it's a lot faster than placing loads of nodes.

I didn't save this one when I reinstalled everything :(

Do you know what sucks? The 70mb+ map download size. Ludicrous.

Looks like a good remake of leviathan as well. You know, the instagib servers are getting some attention lately!

But yeah. Should be something like unrealtournament\content\paks\

I've seen 750mb+ maps, and they are just bsp shells basically :/

I think I'm in luck

Yeah. So have I. The main reason I wouldn't host custom content is because simple maps like Klondike are 300mb...like wtf. You reach 1gb after 3maps.

Yes, I gave up because it is pretty hard decorate the maps in UE4. You need to use a lot 3D Max and others softwares for create the materials/textures. UE4 default content is too limited and dont wanna pay for improve a game that dont even care with SA community.

The downloads are so big because the folks at Epic weren't using their brains when they created this engine/game. When a map or whatever is "packed", it includes all of the assets and textures with it, so if multiple maps use the same texture, you end up downloading that same texture again for each map. Why they didn't just use existing logic from previous engines/UTs as a base is beyond me. It doesn't make sense why they would basically throw out years of design that we already know works. It's almost as if they want everything to be buggy and time consuming.

Where are you saving your map for it to work in game?

It goes in the /Paks/ folder

You have to pak it before you move it to the ut4 directory, share -> share this level, it takes about 5 minutes on my ssd and about 15 minutes when i had it on my hard drive.

Nice one. Will upload it tomorrow. I need to get a default mapvote list first though. Probably won't be until late tomorrow, around this time. I'm doing a lot of prep with one of the debutants at the gym. He needs to lose 6 kilos in 5 days. Game on!

It goes in the /Paks/ folder

C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\UnrealTournament\ Saved\Paks

I have put them there as well as other locations that have been suggested. I have downloaded maps and just tried snipers map, still no show in game.

What is the full path and does the pak folder need to be created? No idea why they wont show.

Im sorry, but the idea of ut4 was to get a new game. All these remakes ( some even look exactly like in ut99 ) makes it the same old sorry if im pessimistic, but i want creativity ! :) Something fresh and new , but yet feels like the same old.

Im on my phone, its something like C:program files/epic games/unrealtournament/content/paks

An easy way to find is to search for the largest file in tje unrealtournament directory.

You could also try this location. When people download maps from #UT4.eu (http://www.unrealkillers.com/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=UT4.eu) site this is where we have them put their downloaded map paks.

\Documents\UnrealTournament\Saved\Paks\DownloadedP aks\

Fluke, you have to create a custom game to be able to see the non standard maps.

Yes, I know.

Leviathan shows up now, each pak must be in a folder of the same name. Mine still doesn't show in game, only simulated in Ued.

Nightmare searching because of the amount of changes constantly made in UT4 and UE4 the folders are sometimes rearranged and no longer valid.

I am sure I will solve it sooner or later.....hopefully

I wasn't using the Unreal Editor....which I have just realised. oops
