Your average !s (!t) !p or !r++ !b++ is obviously not allowed.

We just recently had this topic in mod forum. The general census based on Blaze’s guideline is, that we let “un-stacking” happen IF:

- it is done by trustworthy people (people who are not repeat team switching offenders)
- it is announced or discussed somehow with the people playing and / or present mods
- nobody complains

Hence if this is causing complains on either side, unbalanced teams in the end or is being used so that friends can team up, this is not ok.

We also don’t want a major discussion each game if teams should be manually balanced.

This ‘exception’ is only called for in extreme !stats cases, for example a diff of 300+.

Shouldn't we be able to switch back to our original team?

No one wants to play on a team they've been fighting against for 40 mins.

Aliases have a score of 0.

Shouldn't we be able to switch back to our original team?

It depends on the situation and the players.

If you have a disconnect or your UT crashes, you come back within half a minute, somebody else takes your old spot, you end up on the other team and its 4 vs 5, we would let you go back to your old team if it results in a 5 vs 4. In that case a !r++ / !b++ wouldn't push you back if somebody balances teams.

If a mod is online AND saw what happened, he might move you to your old team and the guy who just joined to the other team since he has nothing to lose so to speak. That being said keep in mind that mods can’t always keep track of every persons situation. If you played for a prolonged time in team A and a disconnect or crash pushes you into team B, and teams would be unbalanced if you would go back (6 vs 4 for example), just ask a mod via PM to be moved back. He will do so when the next person joins. I hear the PM sound almost always, even if doing something else, but don't expect mods to read the entire chat history.

Now, if several player get disconnected or the same people get repeatedly disconnected because the server is lagging out or because of network issues, moving people around can get easily messy and chances are that others start to complain. In that case it is what it is.

In general one thing can be said: if all would act with common sense and courtesy for everyone playing, we wouldn’t need rules and we wouldn’t have to enforce any. When teams and player find ways to arrange themselves in a friendly and all around acceptable way, we are often not interfering or enforcing rules. That’s at least my perspective on it, give a little, take a little. Other mods might handle situations slightly different.

To give some insight into what is acceptable when trying to unstack teams this is from the discussio and guideline I have set out:

Scenario was 350 to red and 150 to blue with blue losing hard. Osyris is on red and wanted to switch to blue to make it 265 to red and 230/245 to blue. He also asked another player to move red to make it 4v3 to further even the teams and also ensure red would still have a windfall of some sort for the switchover.

I agreed with the above. Its simple numbers, we all know who the intentional stackers are and its also pretty obvious when they do it. All you have to do to balance teams IF its needed is check !stats see the difference. If its marginal dont bother but if its huge of 200+ or more and one team is obviously losing then look to move anyone thats only just come in that can change a game or even it out. Its not hard. This is an example.

What I would also suggest is do let a mod or admin know so that anyone who does complain we are already aware about it.
