Just dual booted this onto my machine with Linux Mint and... lol shit sux. I like it better than Vista and 7, but there's a ton of software I have that it doesn't like, that annoying as hell security bullshit that's implemented in an ass backwards fucked up way just like Vista and 7 and I can't find a way to get a more classic look to it. Explorer is also a clusterfuck right now and makes going through your files a pain in the ass unlike on XP and earlier, so much so that it's easier for me to just load up my Linux boot when I need to move stuff around. The only thing it has going for it is that it does seem pretty stable and the start SCREEN can potentially make accessing my programs easier (games in particular... anything else I can get much better for free under Linux), but that's about it. Performance wise it does boot up about as fast as Ubuntu though, unfortunately like HALF of the games I ran on it ran WORSE than what is to be expected when you EMULATE THEM UNDER WINE, Dark Athena in particular ran choppy and lagged like made, and the system needs over ten freakin' gigs just for an install to top it off. Customizability be damned too. I almost forgot to add there's a lot of old stuff that won't work on it (even when you use compatibility options) and some weird mouse acceleration problems that plague Unreal and Unreal Tournament. I know, it's only a preview build and I shouldn't be so harsh, but I can much more easily without pulling my hair out get shit done under a decent Linux distro.
