    Something was planned for UT as well, but you know, Epic does not have "enough bandwidth" to actually allow it.
    Only Unreal got it, and it took many months before Epic gave permission to Smirftsch to release them.

    Anyway, I have the opinion that if someone wants anything more advanced/better like static meshes, particles, materials and such, it's better to just grab UDK and do something with it rather than trying to do that for UT, but if someone wants static meshes so badly together with some other goodies, then there's the UT SDK from Shadow (although it's not a finished product so people will have to wait a long time if they want to release something stable).
