    Error when i launch Unreal

    Hi,

I get this error when trying to launch the game:

Name:	unreal error.PNG
Views:	16
Size:	22.8 KB
ID:	1289

I tried replacing the files with a back up, but still getting the error. It was working fine yesterday, and the only thing i did different today was a Defrag.

    Any help?

    Regards,

    Weetabix

Weird thing, i already had that file in that directory. But i've replaced it now and it's working, so all good.

    Thanks!

I think the problem is my AV scanner, Panda Cloud Antivirus. It's never had a problem before, but in a recent update it's introduced some kind of data shield thing. So now i'm having to save the file again, each time i reboot.

I like the Antivirus since it's really light (works fine as long as you're connected to the internet), but i guess i need a better one now. Any recommendations? All i'm looking for is something that does the job, is light and cheap.

    Regards,

Avast or avg are fine. You could just whitelist the ut folder in panda ?

It says it's allowed to access files (i.e whitelisted) but it's still not letting me launch Unreal, unless i disable the Data shield. It's not so troublesome to disable the shield though, so maybe i'll stick with it for now, unless it starts other problems too.

£40 a year for avast is kinda steep i think, but i'll try out the free version. And I don't think AVG is light enough, i used to have the 2011/2012 version i think, kinda made my pc lag a bit, and updated at awkward times. That was my old pc though, so maybe it won't be so bad now. Maybe i'll give it a go after Avast.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

And the only critical system failure in these 5 years was me playing around with a file shredder (deleted windows lel)
Just grab Avast, use a free license and stick it to silent mode forever.
