    Open GL vs D3d

I have to reinstall due to reformatting my computer. I was running Open GL, and it was fine, but in order to get 60 frames a second I had to reduce all graphics settings to low. So, I'm wondering if Direct Rendering might serve me better. That being said, I also want to ask if there is something I could be doing in my ini file to make my frame rate run better?

I have an Acer TravelMate B-115M

N2840 2.16ghz CPU with integrated Intel HD graphics

Whenever I pushed my graphics settings up I was getting more like 45-50 frames a second, and I found it worth it to drive down settings for a solid 60 fps, but even then sometimes it wouldn't hold. Is there anything else I could be doing to optimize my system? I downloaded the dual-core fix and it seemed to make a bit of a difference, but not much.

On my old PC with Intel intergrated graphics, direct3d8 used to give better fps with the mouse feeling much smoother as well.

As soon as you switch from fullscreen into windowed (because it goes software mode).

No, because my PC is plugged into a 40 inch Sony Bravia (very low input lag for a TV, so it makes for a great monitor), and I want to fill the screen with the full 1080p resolution.

    Does D3D8 support 1080P?
