Updated Siege Rules

I’d like to remind everybody to keep an eye on our rules for Siege. These have been collected and updated several times over the course of 2016 (thanks Chamb for keeping a list of threads and posts). The rules used to be scattered all over the place.

I suggest that everybody keeps coming back a couple times a year to make sure that you are up to date.

From now on any changes will also be announced in this thread.

All rules have been discussed between the server owners, uK, admins, developer team and mods, and are based on the combined experiences of many, many years. I’d also like to remind everybody that these rules are in the best interest for the community, and not tailored for individuals. It is basically the common denominator so to speak. Siege is a team player mod after all.

Newest addition to the rules is a guideline called “Sportsmanship” (Thanks to Fluke). This is a common sense and courtesy requirement known in most forums and gaming communities. It was long overdue in our group.

Please read the definition and the concluding rule:

Sportsmanship is an aspiration or ethos that a sport or activity will be enjoyed for its own sake, with proper consideration for fairness, ethics, respect, and a sense of fellowship with one's competitors.

�1 Do not bully, harass or verbally abuse people on the servers or forum. There is a fine line between harmless sarcasm and bullying. If you don’t know the difference, skip it all together. If you have an issue with somebody, feel free to ask an admin or moderator for help anytime.

Sportsmanship, respect and fairness had been on the downfall for a while in Siege. Several people have come forward over the past months and complained about bullying, racism and a general toxic environment both on the Siege server and the forum. This will be changed in order to provide a positive environment that can be enjoyed by everyone, including beginner or gamer with low skill. This is a public server, not PUG.

People who continue to poison our community will be removed permanently. This is your chance to clean up your act once and for all. If you want to have fun with friends, this is the place to be. If you want to unload your personal frustrations or get off by treating other human beings like crap, you are history. Learn to respect people, even if you don’t agree with them.
