    UT over-achieved and is continuing to over-achieve. Over-achieving meaning passing through periods like a singer that consistently re-invents himself and his style to go from success to success throughout different periods. Siege extended UT's life by many years and continuing to. Players are also over-achieving the same... the ones that adapt to new styles are still playing right now. The ones that didn't, went to other games. And some didn't adapt and are still playing ie deadman838 who i watched with fascination the other day as he stayed in base for long periods in Aleria building things that didn't seem useful. And running around trying to stop nukers with a hyper-leecher. I'm not "dissing" deadman just saying he never fully adapted to the mod but continues playing. Not saying more than that.

    What is dead is old styles. Actually deadman played on the same server as i did 10 years ago, a SLV mod which i originally was from. It's dead and unknown now and players left from that mod unknown but some adapted and are still playing today: DeadlyRabbit... unknown today but was a member of the famous-or infamous-DR clan. Deadman... and maybe the 2.0 guy is the same from SLV.

    Insragib is an old type and still going pretty strong. We did well to have a successful US instagib. But that appears to have died down a bit lately.

    But I agree with you. UT continues to over achieve. It's certainly more populated than its newer releases.

    The "combo" server is full most evenings until fairly late. It seems like at least every week I see previously long unseen old skool players checking in for at least a game or two.

    Risking a little off topic blurb here, It would be nice to have some more spec spots on the combo server and some additional maps.

    I play on every Evening UT99, but not on UK Servers, its just to laggy here.

    I miss so hard SLV A lot of hours spent on URS server mostly.
