    Players who don't get picked are free agents and might get traded in the course of the tournament.
    However, I thought it's 10 players per team, so the chance of playing is pretty high. I'm not sure how familiar you're with the whole format but there will be regular matches (strongest team) and development matches (bottom 5 + 2 top 5 players - if I'm not mistaken).

    Tournament starts June 7th.

    Scrap that.

    Apparently there won't be any dev matches and it's indeed 7 players per team. 12 captains is the goal though, making it 84 active players.
