    How to speed up UT tip

    Got a decently-fast computer yet UT is sluggish?
    Your Ahtlon 4.0GHz is slow and so is your internet browser?

    The true speed hack for any application is changing it's priority to realtime.

    For UT, create a shortcut with all of this in it:

    cmd.exe /c cd "c:\your_ut_folder\system" && start/realtime unrealtournament.exe

    Shut down useless background processes.
    Have a field day with a resource monitor and start killing/removing programs causing problems, it's an ugly trip, but a worthy one.

    Have you tried disabling Cortana on windows 10 lol.

    Like Higor said, disable processes/services, you can do it permanently by going into the services tab in computer management, then double clicking an item, and changing them to disabled, or manual.

    Here are some of the worst ones:

    Windows Update,
    Windows indexing/search (this can slow you down quite a bit),
    Disk defragger (you don't want this running when you are playing games)

    Removing bloatware is like removing viruses... but it won't make your apps run faster: it will just make them not slower than they would normally be.

    Priority is the top secret of all speed tweaks.

    Ask any UT admin, servers are usually run in highest priority! Then... why shouldn't clients?

    UPDATE

    Launching with higher priority causes bugs in UT. Most obvious is mouse speed varying depending on selected weapon.

    To change priority without bugging it:

    1) LAUNCH UT.

    2) Go to task manager.

    3) Right-click UT -> set priority -> realtime

    4) Switch back to UT.
