I'm in northeast NJ. It turned out to just be a really bad storm with a lot of flooding everywhere in my area. We just got power back this morning.

its about 40-50% back to normal. i'd say half of the houses in my neighborhood are still abandoned and rotting on their foundation. it's depressing to drive through some parts.

edit-
tomorrow i'll walk down my street and take pictures of a few of the houses on my street. the water in my particular area was around 9-12 feet of water. my house was almost completely submerged, its only about 15 or 16 feet at its highest point.

if i lived somewhere above sea level storms wouldnt be so bad here. we had a tropical storm come in this past weekend and it flooded from the lake all the way like a mile inland. hurricanes flood the entire city. if the levees fail... well then we're fucked, my house will be underwater for sure.
