wow looks great, its not lag btw its framedrops and that can be fixed but you might lose the complete look and feel of the map!

This looks promising! Just make sure the top of buildings are not places where you can sit :D

you put those big buildings in your sky room? if i were the mapper i will like to put a neon sign ("OPEN", "NIGHT CLUB" or something), maybe with a mover at the same place as a non colored neon sign, the mover with the same image as the neon sign but colored this time and changing their key 1 to a hidden place, move time 0 and triggered with dispatcher+stochastic and helping the effect with bright lights, idk maybe is better create an animated texture but would be great a neon sign in your map :D btw love this map

The map has a shitload of neon signs, and i'm already using movers to prevent some semisolid pillars from fucking up the whole BSP.
I'll use scripted textures instead, I've got a lot of experience making stuff out of scripted textures, even minimaps and radars.

Thinking about it, I am going to need to make a minimap on a wall for the node setup...

Stupid neon signs, took more than expected, but they use a nice combination on Normal + Translucent + Modulated(animated) surfaces.
A not-so-simple decoration actor that animates a nice effect that goes from left to right and brightens the sign every 6 seconds (more noticeabled on the blue signs).
This decoration also detects a nearby core and chooses the appropiate sign colors.

Higor, how about another sign with a ScriptedTexture that show dinamic messages like "'PlayerName' has a Flame!", "'PlayerName' has the worst aim ever!" (FragCount/Time), "'PlayerName' is Nuking!" placed in some spot in both bases only noticeable by friendly players and intruders?

I'm going to release a very incomplete beta of the map this week.

Map will have 3 variations:
3 way: open field.
2 way long: powernodes reduce the number of entrances, making the map more simple.
2 way short: no powernodes, only half of the map is playable.

The beta i'm going to be putting soo is a 2way long variation.

Groovy looking map. I'll have great fun infesting it with zombies.
Animated decorations are underused by mappers (or unheard of), so cheers for adding that bit extra :D

Decos are a mappers blessing.
Giving you skinable items with editable properties, allowing you to conveniently populate a map with interactive and movable items, that won't mess with the BSP or your head.
The WS Rain deco can have rain audio-loops attached to it, so you can easily vary the sound in different areas.

FragNbrag makes good use of the WS decos in his maps.
For those interested, the WS packs, and the Silveribex low-poly street decos, are perfect for this sort of map.

I often make the breakable cardboard boxes drop extras when destroyed, so it adds the extra weapons I want in the map in a more subtle way.
Using deco windows also means you can quickly add breakable windows, without all that messing around with the traditional method (why no-one bothers).

For a bit of life in maps like this, I put rats and roaches where people may hide or camp from (so I don't need to put lots in).

I will be trying it in Unreal 227i to hear the environment-reactive audio in action :D
