    apologies if a bit off topic but would find it interesting on what people first started playing ut with. me a p2 300 16mb riva tnt 56 k dial up, 14 inch monitor
    with some crappy 500xsomething crap resolution to get it to play.

    I started playing UT on the family computer, a Compaq Presario.
    After some googleing, I found it:

    We didn't have the CRT screen, though, we had a 17" LCD.

    Pentium3 500Mhz, ISDN internet, probably 256mb RAM and I believe it had a S3 Savage3D graphics card.
