Just wondering, what is Siege?

I haven't been around for a LONG time, so I have a n00b question. What is siege? I know nothing about it, except it seems like much bigger maps..lol

SIEGE is a massive sniper spam mode and mine at every step.

Because of this, the match is delayed usually on a crazy 2...5 hours.

Siege is a gametype where your team has a core and you must defend it or attack the enemy's core depending on what you want to do, once it reaches 0 game is over, to do this you can build stuff to help your cause (making items or weapons to attack and fortifications to defend for example).
But you might ask, how do I get buildings up?, right, first there's a weapon called "constructor", which is the tool that you can build with.
Do I need anything else? yes, one more thing, to build stuff you need RU (Resource Units) which you can obtain by killing people or attacking the enemy builds and upgrading your core level.

That'd be siege in a pretty short synthesis, but hope it helps.
