    Weird lags...

So this bs has been happening for like the past week or so...
Note that this is been happening even when I'm the only one in the house connected (Even the only device).
Only happening on uK's US servers (Combo, siege, igus, bt, etc etc etc. King of Apes seems fine tho).
This is annoying as fuck and really kills the fun... Hopefully someone can explain? (Probably it's my end but reaaaallly annoying)

You should definitely not see a high / worst ping of 32ms to your local gateway.

You might want to see if your gateway supports QoS/CoS or traffic shaping.

However, most concerning is that once you leave your ISPs networks and jump into telia is where its taking the biggest hit.

so you're in VE and it appears you're having to jump through sweden/norway (wherever telia is based, up around that region) before getting into the US. That to me seems a bit fucked because you're essentially round-tripping half the planet just to get from south-america to north-america.

Now all those RFC-1918 addresses - is that you running some complex internet, going through a public VPN service, or is that actually your ISP?

I dont know which POP you're initially routing through, so i run a tracert to Cantv.net - Te acerca el futuro. I'm in Florida, US. I run through Verizon, Alter, GBLX and finally Cantv. Definitely much more simple than what you're experiencing.

I am not a global wide-area networking expert so I don't understand the topology between multiple continents, but it does seem very bizarre to be routing the way you are.

Tbh I have no idea why this bs isp is routing thru europe lol that's some fucked up shit.
It actually used to route directly to Miami, hence why I had 100 ping, dunno what could've change that or how to change it back (Net stuff noob lel).

What are RFC-1918 adresses? sorry for ignorance, and thanks for reply.
Also the 32 ping in local gateway may be due to shitty hardware?

ok interesting, there are direct submarine links and one of them terminates close to miami.

There were some BGP (routing protocol) issues this week, possibly related to this bullshit leap-second crap where they try and tell your clock to count to 60 and hopefully nothing blows up.

I'd contact your ISP and ask if there's anything wonky going on since it seems to be out of the norm and you definitely should be able to route through miami for a US based host.

router issue could be down to shitty equipment, but for the most part i'd take a look at what you have on your network just to rule out anything else (devices, etc) taking up bandwidth. most modern routers should handle just about anything you'd do in a home environment.

It's your ISP using cheap bandwidth providers routing to the server....

And wont I be damned if i don't see my packets being routed through holland.

This could very well be Servercentral's issue here. They have a leg on the telia network and for whatever reason we're being routed through it. It was hard to tell what was happening in DARREN's case because of the private IP's being used

...it could just as well be verizon however that does not make a whole lot of sense and wish i had some friends in the telecom/global networking industry.

Look at hop 4. That's a 100% loss and no way is that on the serverside network. You don't start hitting serverside until hop 11
