(Windows 8) Wifi major lags every ≈ 10 secs

Earlier this year I was able to play on the laptop without too many spikes but it's been completely impossible for the last few weeks.

    The issue:

I have tried channels 1,6,11 and some in-between

Red & blue is my router

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxR...p=docslist_api

"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" unticked
"Look for other wireless networks while connected to this network" unticked

Power settings » Max performance » Wireless adapter settings » Power saving mode » Plugged in & On Battery » Max performance

I'd guess a windows update must have fucked it up at some point. I have tried pretty much everything apart from upgrading to Windows 10.
    Any bright idea?

There's too much WiFi noise in your area on 2.4ghz mate. I'd suggest investing in 5ghz....but ATM do you have the channel width set to 20 or 40?

Had this issue too, there's two settings areas when it comes to this, one in control panel and one in the Win8 overlay under PC settings.

Windows gets cheeky and turns on the power saving settings again after you update, but if you haven't checked PC settings in the overlay, it's a good place to start.

Would not have a clue about your network traffic.

Didn't know windows did that after each update, I hope that is the reason for the problems I have.

    -edit-
Changed my power plan to performance, I didn't realize it locks you cpu speed to it's max.

It doesn't do it all the time, but it does have a habit after major updates of reverting some baseline settings.

I changed my power plan, the fps drops don't nearly freeze the game like they did, but it still happens a lot, and makes it hard to play, but it was worth a try.

There is some wifi settings in the advanced power settings that I saw.

I doubt it's that, the lags are way too consistent. The pattern is 3 times every 10 seconds and then once after 20 seconds.

Set the power to 60/70%. There's no need to set it to max it out if you can get full coverage with less.

It is possible an update did fuck it up. Try drivers direct from the vendor. But you will need to uninstall and delete driver and install from fresh. Just make sure you download it before you do that because then you're fucked - if you don't have another pc to download it onto.

What are the options under 802.11 n-Mode?

also have you booted in safe mode with networking to check if it could be 3rd party software causing it?

This is a pretty common problem with many different cures annoyingly.

Yeah I did, but they may of changed it from 8 to 8.1. It's been a while and an OS update since then.

I still suspect it's a power saving measure of some sort, purely off the consistency. If you can confirm its not your router, then I guess the next step is to do driver checks and see if there aren't multiple wi-fi adapters according to Windows.

If I was in tech support, this is where I ask for remote access and $50.
