    ut99 mapping contest

UT99.org has a discussion thread up for an end of the year mapping contest · https://ut99.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12318

So there should be a bunch of new maps as we're coming into 2018.

I like this idea. Support! This actually gave an idea to hold a mapping contest for siege.... There honestly isn't too good of a variety for people to play on pugs so id like to change that! Idk I need to do some more thoughts on this... so stay tuned!

They do a contest pretty regularly once a year.

This is an error to make this choice because not working with NewNet or most ZP.
Or they make maps for offline use.

The maps won't have the Chaos weapons themselves, they will have normal weapons but will be designed with Chaos in mind (or at least that's the main idea).
It's mostly about the theme, it's not locked to a mod.

Furthermore, almost no one at ut99.org cares about NewNet or ZP in the least (at least as far as participants in this contest goes). The fun here is to mainly make the maps themselves, rather than use them in servers, although it would be nice if they ended up being good enough for that.... although they wouldn't probably get played at all anyway, since the same old maps and variations henceforth are voted and played.
