Because we know that no other will get a significant majority and most Americans vote based on ideology either democratic or republican. In many cases its a generations thing but most have forgotten what the USA once made free. Because the two party system has taken extensive measures to crowd out any additional parties, even so far as having their cohorts in state governments make up funny rules for getting on the ballot - and with the addition of citizens united, that made sure that such fantastic money flowed into the political system that there is no way a small time grassroots guy can make it without the big donors. Squeaky clean judges DO NOT rise anywhere near SCOTUS, they all are compromised so that they can be counted on to rule the proper way when required.
I dont know why more people werent screaming when SCOTUS effectively wrote law in the obamacare debacle. That is flat out unconstitutional, they do not have the authority to alter it and call it all good. Not to mention, it was a spending bill that did not originate in the House (all spending bills must originate in the house) and was changed by POTUS without having gone back through congress.
A true fuck job, all around.
I know the donald has played some measure of ball in the past - but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and reserve final judgement - at this point, it is simply the best path forward, because we dont need yet another proven criminal family in the white house (again.)
