Could have a flak cannon that just fires flak shells. Instead of causing damage, the shrapnel emits as a web which sticks to players for ten seconds maximum (less if they're hit by less shrapnel / web), and stops them moving. This leaves them to shoot for their lives while standing still. Would be a good weapon to promote teamwork: the player at the back fires flak webs into the air from the back of the group, and the rest of the team pick off the webbed opponents while protecting the webber. If a player commits suicide while webbed, the kill is credited to the webber.
Perhaps to counter the devastating effect of this weapon, you can 'free' an immobile teammate by repairing them. Meaning smart players repair from distance to aid their stricken teammates who are fighting.
Not clued up on programming, but the basic idea of a shrapnel firing weapon that prevents players moving might not be too much work compared to other gun ideas

They are indeed open source and free to rip code, models, skins, etc, from them.
And yes, Fluke is using a model and some effects from NW3 as proof of that.
Actually, I am thinking in releasing the whole raw source of the mod once I release its final version, as I won't have any further use for it afterwards.

Use a gun that no one really uses, and mod it.
